Online gaming claims another young life

Worldwide, the issue of youth deaths due to online gaming has become alarming.   Many online games capture the mind of their users and then they get too emotional and take a wrong step.

The same thing happened in the western Indian state of Maharashtra.  A 16-year-old online game enthusiast jumped to his death from the window of his 14th-floor apartment in an emotional fit while playing an online game.  The parents have no idea what sports the boy used to play and who he was friends with.  It was not possible for them to turn on his laptop computer as it was locked and they did not know the password.

 A cyber expert was hired to unlock i.e. operate the laptop computer.  The boy's father, who hails from Pimpri Chinchwad, said he used to not tell anyone about his online activities, deleting his history from the system.  Also, he used several email accounts to hide his identity.

 The boy's mother said that for about 6 months, unusual changes in his thinking and behavior were visible.  He had become aggressive and had a lot of audacity.  Sometimes he asked for a knife and sometimes he refused to put his hand in the fire.

 The mother of a boy who committed suicide has said that many boys and girls are being spoiled because it is too easy to access websites deemed dangerous.  They have demanded the government to block access to all online games deemed dangerous.
